Workplace Assessments
The aim of the assessment is to identify areas of difficulty and suggest reasonable adjustment recommendations that include strategy training, as well as technology and software solutions. Working with the individual to gain an understanding of their skills, we identify, within the context of their job, a reasonable adjustment package to match their needs.
Review of Reasonable Adjustments
It is recommended that after a number of years, reasonable adjustments are reviewed in order to ensure the most appropriate are in place. As workplaces are fluid and change is inevitable, reflecting the changing needs of both customers and work practice, it is important that reasonable adjustments are reviewed to make certain that disabled employees are supported. A review assessment will take into consideration the needs of both the employee and the organisation, best practice and will take account of which recommendations have previously worked effectively.
One-to-one Strategies
We offer one-to-one consultancy working with individual staff members to develop personalised work strategies. Gaining an understanding of their role and key tasks, sessions are delivered targeting their precise needs and situation. The aim is to work with individual employees to develop relevant and practical strategies which will effect positive changes in efficiency and overall well being.
Maximising the Use of Assistive Technology (AT) in the Workplace
In order to make the very best use of AT software we typically offer one personalised session, to work with the employees to maximise the use of AT in their specific work tasks. We find this session has been invaluable in bringing together the knowledge gained during AT training sessions in understanding how to use software, with its application in particular work situations and environments.
AT Product Training
All our AT trainers are well qualified and able to work with individual employees. Specific needs are discussed and training is tailored to suit the individual and their work needs. Sessions are structured, but also flexible so we can adjust the training as necessary. Sessions are designed to maximise opportunities for hands on practice. The pace of delivery is always determined by individual employee needs and trainers are sensitive and able to anticipate the need for breaks. During sessions handouts are provided that summarise the key points and on completion of training, points of contact are given for continued support if required. The aim of our AT training sessions is to leave knowing the employee is confident in the use of software and is able to resolve difficulties as and when they arise.
Ergonomic Assessments
We can provide trained DSE assessors to assist you in identifying what equipment is best suited to improving a persons condition while working at their desk. A full set-up and user training can also be provided to ensure employees have an awareness of how to gain maximum benefit from using the equipment.
